This October, The Nightmare Realm opens its first international chapter, arriving in London with an entirely new horror experience created exclusively for Avery Hill Mansion.
Every year, when one chapter of The Nightmare Realm closes, another begins.
That’s always been the exciting part. We don’t believe in repeating ourselves. Every October gives us the opportunity to build a completely new world, introduce new characters and tell a story that has never been told before.
Bringing The Nightmare Realm to London felt no different.
It wasn’t about recreating what we’ve done in Ireland or simply transporting an existing event across the Irish Sea. It was about asking ourselves what the next evolution of The Nightmare Realm should look like.
The answer became our 2026 theme; A Nightmare From Overseas.
A Nightmare From Overseas is an original cinematic horror experience inspired by the idea that some nightmares refuse to stay where they began. Forgotten places. Familiar fears. Stories that travelled across the sea and returned… changed.
Inside Avery Hill Mansion, guests will journey through two expansive headline immersive horror experiences before discovering that the story stretches far beyond the attractions themselves.
Because The Nightmare Realm has never been about counting mazes.
It’s about building worlds.
For those who have followed our story over the years, there will be familiar faces. But familiarity doesn’t mean predictability.
Sundown Manor returns after becoming one of our most celebrated productions in 2023, introducing our own interpretation of vampire folklore to a new audience. Meanwhile, Avery Hill Asylum continues the story of Dr. Thorne, whose actions during Curse of the Five left a mark on The Nightmare Realm that was never going to end when the event closed last Halloween.
Some stories deserve another chapter.
Others simply refuse to stay buried.
For anyone discovering us for the first time, don’t worry. You don’t need to know what came before. Every story we create is designed to stand on its own, but for returning guests there are threads connecting one year to the next. Characters evolve. Choices have consequences. Places are revisited. The world grows a little larger each October.
That’s something we’ve always loved building.
This year has also given us the opportunity to rethink how guests experience The Nightmare Realm.
Our headline attractions are the largest and most immersive we’ve ever created. We’ve always been known for experiences that take their time rather than rushing guests from one scare to the next, but London has allowed us to push that philosophy even further. These aren’t collections of jump scares. They’re stories that unfold around you, inviting you to notice details, follow characters and slowly piece together what’s really happening.
Outside of the headline experiences, Halloween Town has become something far more important than a themed midway.
It’s a place to explore.
The town is alive with its own residents, shops and stories, but it’s also where some of this year’s biggest discoveries are made. In previous years, our secret experiences became legendary because they were almost impossible to find. This year we’ve taken a different approach. Hidden throughout Halloween Town, they’re still discoveries but now they’re woven naturally into the world, rewarding curiosity without relying on luck.
That change says a lot about where The Nightmare Realm is heading.
We’ve become less interested in asking guests to move from attraction to attraction and more interested in inviting them into a world that feels alive. Somewhere you can wander, interact, uncover secrets and feel like you’re part of the story rather than simply watching it unfold.
Opening in London is a huge milestone for us, but it doesn’t feel like the end of anything.
If anything, it feels like the beginning.
The Nightmare Realm has always been built one chapter at a time. This just happens to be the biggest chapter we’ve ever written.
